Background
American dog psychologist Wesley Laird has a unique method of training, which he's brought to Australia. He has been teaching people to train their dogs, full time, for more than 20 years. Based on child psychology and the dogs's natural instincts, his techniques work on all dog's, any age, any breed.
He graduated from the Career School of Dog Trainers in Long Beach, California, in 1978, with honors. He also studied child psychology at California State University Los Angeles, and Pasadena in Southern California.
Wesley has trained police dogs for county sheriffs, north of Las Vegas, Nevada, and worked with a number of celebrities in the TV and music industries. In Australia, he's been a guest on radio stations 3AW and 3UZ answering caller's questions about dogs, from toilet training and chewing to controlling aggression and digging. Wesley starred on Foxtel in a weekly special on training dogs. He has also produced a dog training video and state of the art cd rom and DVD.
Working with all breeds and mixes of breeds in every imaginable environment and situation, Wesley has had an extremely good response from people in the Melbourne suburban area. His clients love the fact that he comes to their home at a convenient time for them. Plus the individual approach ensures that there are no distractions for the dog and owner - a problem often associated with group classes. Wesley can teach more, to owner and dog, in a one hour class at home than they would learn in six months of group training in a park.

Wesley teaches his method by training the dogs with their owners, teaching the owners what to do when he is not there. He can teach virtually anything, anything from one off lessons, focusing on individual problems or commands, to full communication and very advanced types of training. Wesley even has clients that teach their dog commands in Greek, Italian, German and Latvian.
